Poked baby in eye

Hi all, I think I accidentally poked my baby in the eye! I was putting her to bed and turned the lights off, wanted to pat her to sleep but I am pretty sure I poked her eye instead as I could t see her :( she was crying afterwards, her eye didn't seem red and I don't think it was bleeding. She is asleep now and is 9 months old... should I wake her and bring her to a&e tonight?!

She most likely just got a shock. You know what it's like to poke your eye it stings for couple of seconds.
Long as not red, I would deffo clarify it wasn't bleeding 😅

If it was hurting that much she wouldn't sleep.

Don't worry

Thanks @HSKAT I am worried after doing a bit of goggling and reading about eye injuries! She is only teeny and I felt so so bad :(

Stop the googling.
The only place to read is the NHS website Smile

Your baby will be fine. She will do a lot worse as she gets older.
Leave her be if she’s asleep, she will have forgotten all about it.

I poked my two week old in the eye when cosleeping and her hair tickled my arm. She cried, I cried, all was well! If she was in pain she would’ve let you know! She how it is in the morning, but itll almost certainly be fine :)

We've all done this! If she's asleep then there's no harm done - you know how much the slightest eye irritation hurts, you'd know about it if she was uncomfortable. Don't worry!

Thank you all! I get nervous when it comes to eyes! I will see how she is in the morning, I should probably head to bed now ( and will stop googling!) As she still doesn't sleep through the night ( another topic for another day!)
