Hair gel for 1yo

Hi!

DD is 1.5 yo. Her hair is at that weird stage to go in front of her eyes but she refuses any kind of accessories. 😕

My mum suggested hair gel. I have never used any kind of hair styling products, besides hair spray a couple of times to tame flyaways. So... no1: is hair gel the best product to try in this situation? No2: do you know a good product that is safe to use in small kids?

Thank you!

I would use hair gel in a child of that age. Just leave her hair alone as it is . It will grow soon enough and the whispy buts wont be as whispy

I wouldn't use hair gel*

Get a fringe cut? Also toddlers don't really care about their hair being in their eyes, accessories are more for the parents' benefit.

But if you do really want to go down the gel route, I've used Original Sprout on older children. Expensive but does smell lovely.

My eldest hated clips and anything in her hair, so she had a fringe to keep it short at the front. She grew it out at about 7 or 8 when she was old enough to understand and manage it through that awkward length.

Cut it

Just cut it?

Another vote for just cut the child's hair.

I wouldn't bother with gel because it won't actually hold it down and away from her eyes if her hair is long. Unless you literally slathered her hair in it, and slicked it back.

Better to teach your child how to push hair behind their ears etc.

Just leave it or cut a fringe. Never seemed to bother my dds (my mum however way constantly adding clips to their hair which they lost). Eventually I got dd1s to part and dd2s cut into a fringe. They get so much food and paint in their hair during the day I wouldn't add to that with gel.
