Missing toddler so much but needed break

Does anyone else really miss their toddler when they are away?

i had to attend hospital for a neurological emergency today, my little girl had a weekend trip planned with her gran this weekend but since I had to go to hospital her gran picked her up last night and she won't be back till Sunday

I always miss my toddler so much when away but at the same time I'm thankful for the break but I sit and look at videos and pictures and feel so upset she's not beside me...
anyone else?
Im also pregnant so maybe hormones are making it worse this time

...sorry OP, I tend to dance with delight when I get a night off from my toddler. I'm always v ready to have her back the next day and have the occasional moment of missing her, but it's very fleeting and nothing like what you describe. I'd blame hormones. Stop looking at videos and do something lovely for yourself instead.

Yeah no... I feel a bit sad when I say goodbye but then I'm dancing out the door ready to sit in silence and drink wine!!

I was never one of those people who put their baby to bed then missed them either!

nope…it’s been a while since DD was a toddler but I’ve never missed her when she goes off on adventures with grandparents.

Always glad to have her back though.
