Toddler obsessive routines

DS is almost 3 and has certain things that have to be just right eg

  • has to walk a certain long way round to the house
  • has to take a certain route when leaving the house to walk to the car
  • really extreme bedtime routine and things that have to be right before he goes to sleep.

Hes being referred to psychology as the nurse said some of the above are OCD like.
Is this actually likely in a toddler?

His older brother has ASD but 3yo doesnt have enough red flags for them to consider that. I know the strict need for routine could be one red flag.

Has anyone experience similar with a toddler?
Some stuff is so extreme that I dont know if I should wait for the psychology appt or just try to pay for private sessions.
