Please tell me how to potty train

Hi! This is my first child he will be 3 soon. He needs to be potty trained and I honestly have no idea where to begin. I’ve bought a potty and have kept it around for about two weeks, i feel really silly but I don’t know where to begin? Thank you in advance for your help.

Day one, no nappies, no pants, no trousers. Stay at home, offer lots of water and put him on the potty every 20 minutes. Watch him like a hawk and grab him the minute he starts to wee and put him on the potty. LOTS of praise for all wees and poos on the potty, and zero reaction to any accidents.

Day two, no nappies, trousers but no pants. Same thing as day one.

Day three, just like before but with pants.
