Have covid and a small baby

My baby is 11 weeks and I’ve just come down with covid for the first time. I know many people have been through this- I’m googling and trying to work out if I should wear a mask etc. I’m breastfeeding and am with her 24/7 so is there any point trying to introduce any measures now?? I am feverish and achy and anxious about such a small baby getting it.

keep feeding! Baby will get your antibodies!
i had it ( was asymptotic) and DH was sick. Baby was fine !? Never so much as a sniff.
look after yourself and hydrate to keep the suppli going.

You have my sympathies OP. I had it when DD was only three weeks old. We spent ten days in bed cuddling and breastfeeding (I didn't call for advice because I didn't want to be told to be separate from her...!!) and she was absolutely fine, but look out for a high temp/cough etc. I guess she got the antibodies because I got it again when she was 7.5 months (bad luck eh!) and she was fine again.

Thanks- my gut feeling is no point trying to introduce any distance, I mean she’s in a sleepyhead cm away from me right now. But the cdc site says mask and hand washing.

I don’t think my Dh will be excited about 10 days! We have two other young dc so I need him whether he gets it or not.

It's hard but honestly if you're breast feeding it's going to be pretty hard to stop her getting it. On the plus side she will probably be very mildly affected by it and will then have some immunity to that variant at least. We all had it when our daughter was 13 weeks - she was fine, just mildly unwell for a few days.

What a worrying time. But hopefully she gets your antibodies. I read somewhere saline drops can help clear the germs from their wee noses, unsure if true and if I would use them if my baby didn't want congestion

I had it, my 16 week old baby got it and was quite poorly (vomiting, rash, temp of 40) for a couple of days then all fine and dandy.

When I had it the rest of the household tried to distance from me but I still breastfed, cared for and co-slept with the baby. My husband got it next! The baby and my older daughter got it a few days later and were both asymptomatic.

My 3yo has it now, Dh will be lucky to avoid it! I’m feeling much better though so not so worried about my milk, and baby is being a dream and I don’t think she’d unwell although of course I worry every good sleep is because she’s poorly.

Sorry to here u have covid. Hope u all make a full recovery.
I tested positive yesterday.
I scared to go near my partner or 2 year old. But my daughter still needs to be cared for. My symptoms are quite mild.
