Holiday disaster

I stupidly took my 18m old on a long haul holiday which has been an absolute disaster. He’s hated every minute and it’s been miserable. The time difference on holiday is 5hrs behind and he just has not been sleeping enough here. At home he has an excellent routine and sleeps 12-13hrs every night, but here he’s been averaging about 6hrs a night. Please tell me things will go back to normal when we get home?! Worried I’ve ruined everything and will be doomed to a miserable toddler at home too after 2 weeks of hell abroad 😪

Ah. There will probably be an adjustment period when you get home but I'm sure you'll get back on track. How far in to the holiday are you?

My 9 month old hates holidays and any changes to his routine. We don't even have a strict routine at home because I'm super disorganised and because we need.to.xoordinate with older DD but whatever routine we have he wants.

I'm sure once you are back home and get back into his routine he will settle down again though it may take a few days.
