Hi,

Moving house soon 2 DC.

DD is 10 months. We own the property but have been doing it out and are due to move in soon, any advice, tips or things to avoid?

Thanks 😊

They are pretty easy to plonk down in a new home at this age as they don't have any attachment to the home. Just make sure you have everything you need to feed them with you, set up the cot first and use the same bedding, not fresh, so it smells familiar and have all of your safety gates abs any other precautions set up before they arrive.

They'll be fine Smile

If using a removal company, make sure you have a bag/box packed with a few days of baby essentials in the car, so you aren't hunting for them. (Bottles, spoons, toys, nappies, clothes, wipes etc).

But honestly, neither of mine noticed when we moved house at that age. They were unsettled as toddlers though (and at school age there was understanding and sadness)

Just moving with 23m and 8m old and they think it’s a right barrel of laughs.

todays the day and they will be with gp all day but weve been toing and froing the new house for a month so they know their stuff is there and it’s also home

We’ve done this twice!
Once when DS1 was 6 months.
Then last year when DS2 was 5 months.
it’ll be harder for you as I assume your baby is crawling but I’d suggest movers 100%. Start packing boxes early, if you have Kallaxes just fill and wrap the box and put it back into the unit. Number every box or piece of furniture and number each room in your new house (I put a post it on the doors) then the movers can move them all into the right rooms.
That made it so much less stressful on the day, it was an absolute breeze - packing beforehand was the hardest part.
Keep a suitcase with essentials in your car.
Good luck !
