Setting up email address for children

Does anyone do this? Set up an address and email photos, share significant memories etc for when the children are older? Mine are only 4y and 6m and thinking of starting this. Probably motivated by having lost my mum early and through this a lot of my childhood memories. No-one can tell me when I took my first steps etc.

If you do, do you have one per child, or a shared one?

Or do you think its a silly idea? I can't work out if I'm doing this more for my own benefit so I can more easily remember their babyhood? Or if I'm motivated by anxiety and fear of passing away too soon like my own mum, which isn't a good reason.

But life is so good right now, I'm enjoying every moment with them and want to bottle it somehow to look back on some day!

I did it. Maintained for about 5 months. That's it. He is two now Confused

Thought about doing this, but honestly no time. I think a more realistic idea is to send them one email, or write them a letter with pics etc every birthday detailing the year gone.
However I'm not sure it matters too much, we live in the digital age where everything is documented.

Can you make them some printed photo books instead? That’s what I’m doing. My toddler loves looking at the pictures.
