Rashes are worrying, but many are minor and disappear quickly - the best place to start is www.nhs.uk/conditions/rashes-babies-and-children/ which explains what to look for.

One important thing to do is roll a glass over the spot.

Nikki305 · 02/05/2022 21:22

Have you done the glass test?

Any fever etc?

cherry978 · 02/05/2022 21:23

Looks like a viral rash to me but get it checked anyway

Looks like the rash my toddler had about 8 weeks ago. It just came and went with no illness. Think it must have been viral. Do the glass test and keep an eye out for fever

@ncbabyhelp

Just in case you don't know.

If you depress the skin with a glass and the spots remain visible through the glass this can potentially be meningitis- which is very serious and can develop very fast.

If you have ANY concerns at all this may be the case phone 111 straight away (and they are likely to send you to A&E if they think it is meningitis.)
If your baby becomes drowsy or unresponsive in any way just phone 999 immediately- don't wait.

www.nhs.uk/conditions/meningitis/symptoms/

I am not a doctor but my mum was a consultant paediatrician.

This is really not one to wait and see about - definitely worth getting it checked immediately tonight if you think any of the symptoms on the NHS link above match up.
