Have any of you used any of the many books that are available either for adults or children to help with potty training ? Are there any that you reccomend or are they just a waste of money ?

dd liked "I want my Potty" and "Potty Hunt" from M and S but I wouldn't say it accelerrated the process !

I decided to get the Gina Ford - Potty Training in One Week book.

After reading it I decided that daughter (23m)is very ready, but parents are not. We are very busy over the next few weeks and are doing a lot of travelling over Christmas. I thought we would leave it until the New Year when things are quieter.

Daughter seems to have other idea's. Partner found her sitting on her potty 'reading' the Gina Ford book tonight (she managed a wee & a poo)!

PopsP, that's exactly what's happened with my dd, 25 months! I'd planned to wait until she was 2.5 but she's been pooing on the potty forover a onth when we're at home and then started weeing too and seems to have developed a hatred of nappies. Had our first full-on week this week, you may see my ups and downs on other threads here! But the last 2 days have been really good to be honest and I'm getting used to the idea that she's old enough to want to do it but maybe not physiologically old enough to recognise all the subtle signs of needing to go so I need to manage that bit for her for a while.

Dd also loves GF's book
