18 month old still doesn't sleep through

When did your baby/toddler/child regularly sleep through the night? My DS wakes once if not twice still. On the rare occasion he does sleep through it isn't a massively long stretch of sleep (I don't think) from 8pm until 4.45am then up for the day. He naps well in the day around 2 hrs but I always wake him at 2pm as that means a 8pm bedtime! Am I doomed to never have a child that sleeps through. I feel I have aged in the last 18 months. Ha! Any one have a child that suddenly just started sleeping through the night? I really hope so!!!!

DS2 didn't consistently sleep through until he was about 6. Sorry.

Actually I'm not sure if he started sleeping through, or just stopped waking me up.

Mine has just turned 4 and still wakes in the night at least 6 nights out of 7! Sorry. It’s quite normal, although they’re not all like this, my first slept through from about 6 months.

my 4 year old has aged me at least 10 years so I can empathise!

Mine are 3 and 4 and neither sleep through yet!

My DS slept through the night for the first time at nearly three.

My DD started really consistently sleeping through at 3; before then it was here and there. My DS is 2 and his sleep is often interrupted but in the last few months I’ve found that letting him come into our bed has him sleeping later and although I’m sure many disapprove I let him watch something on my iPad so I can snooze when he wakes before 6am

4 definitely just before starting school but even then not guaranteed every night

I feel your pain, my DS finally started sleeping through just after his 2nd birthday.

Timeturnerplease · 01/05/2022 19:10

Eldest did at around 18/20 months, when she stopped napping. Even now, at 3yo, ten minutes snoozing in the car usually means a 4am wake the next day.

I think some of them just need less sleep. Sorry if that’s yours - hopefully it isn’t!

About 4 years old I think.

Lazypuppy · 01/05/2022 19:26

DD slept through from 3 months until about 2.5/3 and since then she wakes at least 3 times a night at 4 years old 🤷🏼‍♀️

roarfeckingroarr · 01/05/2022 19:45

Mine doesn't either. He goes to bed around 7.30/8, wakes up once between 3 and 5, then sleeps until 8.

pompomseverywhere · 01/05/2022 19:51

I'm not even sure my 22 year old sleeps through.

Somuchgoo · 01/05/2022 20:32

They are 3 (just) and 4 (5 next month) and both have home through periods of sleeping through, interspersed with longer periods of not.

Both are currently going through a waking phase.
