15 month old still not walking

Hello, I have a 15 month old that still isn't walking. He can bare weight and cruises around the furniture but he cannot stand or walk unaided.
So some advice I was given was to buy him some cruising? Shoes to encourage walking.
I've never really heard this and let DS1 go bare foot until he was walking well.

Is this a thing or money making?
And any tips on helping him along would be fab!

I wonder if there is something in the different personalities of children as to when they walk?

Totally unscientific but DC1 walked lateish at 16 months and is still a careful, thoughtful child age at 11 whereas DC2 (9) walked before he was a year but is a reckless individual, always tearing around and injuring himself!

DGD started walking at 18 months. Just before she was due to see a physio about it as apparently 18 months is the earliest they’ll look into it as 18 months is still not out the normal range, unless there’s other indications further investigations might be needed. She was 7 weeks prem though. I was nearly 2 before I walked. DD and DS both around 12/13 months. There’s a large ‘normal’ range.
