I think DS is about ready to start potty training, so any top tips? Do books (aimed at me or DS) help much? And will transferring him to reusable nappies help him to know when he's wet etc? Thanks!

how old is he and what makes you think he is ready?

He is 22months and generally very enthusiastic about the toilet, talking about it etc. Not sure i could trust him to tell me when he wanted to go though as he seems to like surprising us!

I've just left a message on another thread about this. My DD hates having a wet or dirty bottom, and will now tell me when she wants her nappy changed. She is obviously more concious of having filled her terry nappy, which is a feeling she does'nt get with a disp. nappy. So she should potty train earlier. I don't know what reusable nappies you have in mind, but I've always used traditional terry squares, with pull-on plastic pants over the top. The nappies can be folded to fit any shape or size, and are the cheapest and easiest nappy system imo.
