Party invitation etiquette when not inviting whole class

DS is in nursery class of a school. He's having a party at a small soft play place so is limited to 12 children. How should we go about sending invites? Just drop the parents of the children we're inviting a message? How soon in advance? Should we put a date to RSVP by?

If you have all their mobile numbers just WhatsApp either a picture of a party invitation or send the details and ask them to let you know by X date.

Yeah I would do this too. No need to do paper invites if you have everyone's contact details already.

I would definitely add an RSVP date. Otherwise you risk last minute attendees! 🙂

Yes, I'd do WhatsApp too. But for reasons I've never understood, it can be that without a paper invite people consider it a casual invite (that seems to change as they go up through the school). Our nursery and primary will distribute paper invites via book bags if asked so that it just goes home with the relevant children.

If you have all 12 numbers then make a separate group and invite the 12. Add time place and rsvp by x date

Or just give the parents an invite at drop off/pick up. It's not complicated. I'm sure the other parents will hear of the party, but if numbers are limited, so be it.
