Seizures without losing consciousness

I’m currently sat in a&e and I feel like I’m in a nightmare. Today my 2 year old got home and sat on the potty and started doing jerking motions with his entire upper body, he did this maybe 4-5 time in 5 minutes, each lasting seconds. He stayed ‘with us’ all the time and was completely not bothered by it. It was like a very exaggerated shiver affecting his upper body but looked completely involuntary.

he’s not done it again since, I feel sick to my stomach, I don’t know how this can have any good outcome, I feel like it’s not real life. has anyone else experienced this with their child and it’s been okay?

he’s not ill, not hit his head or had a temperature.

@KL92xxxx Saw you hadn’t had any responses so thought I would ask how you got on, if you got any answers. Hope all is well with your son today.

Hello thank you the doctor at hospital checked a video I had of the episode and said he could go home and just watch to see if it happened again but it very well could just be a one off. He was super jerky overnight so I rang the GP and we’ve been referred for tests. He seems absolutely fine today but I am sick with worry, I can’t eat or think straight and I can’t stop obsessively watching him. I don’t know how I’m going to get through the wait before we can see someone.

I’m sorry you didn’t get an answer, sometimes these things take time. I think if either doctor was really worried they would have pushed for more tests immediately, so it sounds as though they are fairly confident this is nothing to worry about for the moment, but that is easier said than done from your point of view. Your son sounds well in himself which is good news, he is probably back to being a whirlwind two year old today. I hope your appointment comes through quickly. Take care. Flowers
