Fever then rash - Roseola?

Hi all. My 1 year old DS had a terrible fever (40+) the last 3 days and has been incredibly cranky. Today, the fever has finally calmed but he is covered in a rash on his tummy and now spreading to his thighs (photo attached). Have been to GP and A&E after scary temp episodes and been told it is upper respiratory virus - but that was a day or so ago before the rash. Assuming it is Roseola as the symptoms seem to fit - but checking no-one thinks it could be scarlet fever or even measles (he has has MMR and is up to date with all vaccinations so assuming measles v unlikely).

Thanks in advance.

Could just be a post viral rash

Mine has roseola recently. Like yours, temp hit 40 for a couple nights in a row. Sure enough, as the temp broke, out came the rash which looked similar to your little ones. GP diagnosed roseola which I had suspected.

Saying that, I’d still go to the GP for any rash, just to make sure.

Oh, and a tell tale sign for us were raised lymph nodes in the back of the head! Not directly behind the ears but a bit further back. I was shocked and that was what took me to the GP, but when I looked online later in the day it is in fact a symptom of roseola.

Again, always worth taking advice on a rash, but this looks very similar to something our twins had a couple of weeks ago. Diagnosed as roseola by GP.
