not really much of a thread, just needing some encouraging words. 13 week old DS is in hospital and i'm really struggling right now. it's a horrible horrible feeling.

Hi OP
sending hugs. I was in hospital with my baby for 4 nights when she was 3 weeks old. She’s 12 weeks now and i still don’t think i’m “over it”.
how is your little one doing? 💐

Just to say that I’ve been there when my DD was nine weeks old - local hospital then blue lighted to Great Ormand Street. It’s a horrible experience. Are you getting good info on what is going on from the medical staff? I found talking to nurses in the middle of the night very informative. Are there other parents in with their little ones who you can have a few minutes to chat with for support? Are you getting enough to eat and drink yourself? Even though you are not the patient, if you are breast feeding or expressing you are entitled to all hospital catering. I have the very same ‘baby’ sitting next to me right now as a strapping 15 year old, but I still shudder to think back to those weeks when she was so poorly. But little ones are resilient.

Sending you love and hugs, OP. My baby was admitted to hospital less than 48hrs after his birth, I’ll never forget what a dark place I was in. Please look after yourself and reach out to us here for support. Have you anyone IRL you can call for support right now?

(((HUG)))
Its incredibly difficult.

what's wrong with the poor little mite?

my god daughter daughter was in hospital with a horrible virus at 8 weeks, which my goddaughter then caught. Complete nightmare time, but she's a thriving 1 yo now 😊

The doctors suspect that it is a bacterial infection but they don't know where the source of the infection is coming from so we need to stay here over the weekend hopefully get released Monday and by then we should know where the infection is coming from. it's just horrible seeing them poke and prod our little ones with so many things. DS cannula keeps messing up they've had to do it 3 times and once more in a couple hours when lights are back on. it's just horrid xx

father is allowed visits from 8am to 8pm do it's been the two of us in those hours, but then it's just me and DS. i have my parents i can call, whom i love with, but they're struggling too, every time i call my DM cries seeing DS stuff everywhere and no sign of him, so i just needed to talk to someone where none of us would be crying. you understand? x
