10 week old ridge on head

Hi everyone,
My 10 week old son has a hard ridge going across the top of his school. It looks almost like a hairband. Has anybody else experienced this? I will add a picture. I have booked him in to see GP but I'm panicking in the meantime and looking for reassurance I guess.
It has never been noticed at any of his checkups so I am hoping it's not serious.
I will attach a picture.
Thank you

I'm pretty sure that's where his skull is closing. You will be aware that babies are born with a soft spot called "fontanelle' which eventually closes as the skull fuses. I'm sure your HV will confirm. Congratulations on your beautiful baby!

I can’t advise in your baby as I’m no expert (congrats by the way!) but just if it reassures you, I was convinced my DS had a ridge on his head. I thought it was really flat and hard on one side and / or that something was wrong with his soft spot. Took so many photos of it at different angles. Cried on the phone to the doctor as they wouldn’t see me (it was lockdown). They relented and saw me. The lovely doctor was very kind and explained that that was just the shape of his head, that we all have slightly funny shape heads, and that by the time he grew more hair no-one would ever know. She was right! He had a completely normal head and now it’s a story I laugh about.

I’m sure your GP will reassure you in a similar way.

One of mine had this, don’t even remember which one. She was fine.

My son had the same except it was VERY prominent, he's absolutely fine now. 20 months old and you can't see it anymore

Thank you all so much for your replies. I have been swallowed up by worry all day long but will sleep well now. Will still go to GP to make extra sure but thank u all so much for reassurance.

My DS’s head looked like this, with a really big soft spot in the middle. Became much less noticeable around 6 months I think it was.
I asked the health visitor and she said some baby’s soft spots don’t completely close until 2 years!

Of course get it looked at if you’re worried, but try not to worry too much.
