another nappy rash thread! is it nappy rash or thrush?

my baby girl is 3 weeks and 2 days now. Since Friday we have been being treated for oral thrush (her) and nipple thrush (me). I have noticed her bum looks a bit red, down her perineum, around her anus and up between her cheeks. Today I noticed it looked shiny and had little red spots. Previously we only knew she was wet/dirty when we checked, now she really lets us know and is quiet almost as soon as she is on the changing mat, it obviously hurts her and she knows she is going to be changed and therefore it will be better. I am going to see the doctor on Friday morning (or tomorrow, have to phone at 0830). Is it thrush or nappy rash? What should I do. We have been using cloth nappies except when we went away at new year. We use a combo of muslins, fluffles and bamboozles. At the last change I put a fleece liner instead of usual paper, thinking this will keep her dryer. I also put a TINY bit of sudocrem on the red area, because it was there (one of those tiny sample pots I have 3 of!!). What can I do before we see the doctor. We clean her with terry baby wipes which we keep in an ice cream tub with camomile tea.
Thanks

Hi Liz

My DS has just had a fungal nappy rash. I'd go to the dr if you're unsure. Carry on with the sudocrem though.

If it is thrush, you'll need to give all your nappies a hot wash and pop some white vinegar in the conditioner drawer.

Hope you get it sorted

Also give her lots of nappy off time, that will help loads

60 should be ok.

A good glug of vinegar, the acid will kill any nasties.
I always do a rinse before the wash too.
