13 month old rarely responds to name

Hello,

I have a 13 month old boy. A lot of the time he doesn't respond to his name when I'm calling him. Sometimes he does. His hearing is fine. He loves my nephews and nieces and if one of them call him he turns right away and if I put his "name pronounciation" on YouTube, He reacts and laughs so that makes me believe he does know his name but just Chooses to ignore me and my partner. He's a bubbly little guy and seems very social. My question is, should I be worried about possible autism as I seen it's one of the most early signs .

Really, don't worry at all. If you are calling his name as a 'test', that is probably an unusual context where he is confused or not bothered. The fact that he can respond to other people or a computer calling his name shows that he is fine.

plus 13 months is still very young. If he does not respond to his name at age 2, then you might want to talk to the GP.

Sounds totally normal for 13 months.

Hey I'm sorry I've just seen this now. He's brilliant . He's 2.4 months now and there is absolutely no concern for hun turning to his name of autism 😊 all the best
