Someone I know has put on their social media that they are weaning their baby at 10 weeks old... Their baby is have baby rice and pouches and jars! Should I say something or what should I do?

I would contact the area HV team and express your concern but don’t leave your name.

I would call her and ask if she has medical advice. If yes, I would tell her to get a second opinion. Four months is early.

I don't want to be one of those people... But I just think it's absolutely insane to be feeding a baby that young food? It's so dangerous! I cannot imagine a HV approving this either. I just don't want to get her in trouble, but it's just not safe for baby

In my mum’s day they started weaning at 6 weeks. I’m not saying this was ideal, but it was common practice and waiting till 4-6 months was considered to be starving the baby. Personally I don’t think it’s really any of your business unless you know her well enough to ask why she’s weaning so early and check she does understand the current best practice.

Doesn't matter what you do, this type of person will do as they please.
I'd unfollow or snooze them if I were you.

Is it someone that you only ever talk to on social media?

If it was a mum friend that I spoke to often and I had a baby a similar age I’d probably say something.

Someone random who I knew about 4 years ago on social media absolutely would not say anything. I might unfollow because it would annoy me but that’s all.

I weaned at 14weeks.. Advice was 16 weeks then..

I doubt she is likely to listen

Obviously it's not good but I wouldn't say anything - they'll know themselves that it isn't recommended at 10 weeks and have chosen to do it anyway so there wouldn't be any point.

You may not agree with it but it isn't illegal so best to just leave it alone and unfriend if you don't want to see it
