My DS has a group of close friends. 3 of the 5 boys when they've come for a playdate (one to one playdates) have refused to play or do anything other than play computer games. Either a sulk/refusing to talk interact at all or full on tears sobbing. We have a switch, my DS plays sometimes but is not that interested. I have negotiated short periods on the switch with the playdate child and my son, in a taking turns to decide what to do way, but then the playdate refuses to stop playing/ play anything else. I have resorted to calling an end to the playdate early. My DS has been really sad. I have had a chat with him about being flexible to what others want to do on playdates and to his credit he does make an effort. But I have been shocked with kids who won't do anything but play computer games.
Is this common? these are my sons friends so I don't want to stop having them over by how would you proceed? And would you say anything to the parent?
They are 5/6.

My daughter is in year 1 and her playdates don’t normally involve screen time.
