Together at home as a family - not what they do in school? What would you say healthy living involved?

Washing hands

Not picking up & eat stuff off the floor

Making choices about what they eat (from a controlled selection)

Choosing to do exercise

Learning about the way germs pass from person to door handles etc

Do you mean stuff like that?

yes great - keep going - am writing it down!

you "teach" them healthy living by living healthily. I would, in fact do, include

  • walking not driving
  • eating home cooked food as a family
  • exercising as an adult
  • outdoor activities as a family - walking, cycling, gardening
  • indoor activities as a family - swimming, climbing
  • recycling

Also (imo)
*doing the right thing because it's the right thing
*not expecting everyone else to act/behave like you do
*not being upset by other peoples different priorities

Can all contribute to a healthier (lower stress) life

Eating well (healthy but balanced diet)

Keeping clean (handwashing, teeth etc)

Exercise

Emotional intelligence (talking about feelings etc)

Developing awareness of what is personal/private (boundaries, bodies etc)

Developing self-esteem

Maybe about teaching them to want the healthy choice

DD will choose water or fresh juice more often than lemonade

& fruit as often as biscuits (not doing as well there - unless it's grapes)

Why do we do things - rather than THIS is the way we do it

Good one katymac! Did you sort out your job advert on the job club thread?

Kinda

I never seem to get the right people

It's so important that they fit in & less important that they have experience/quals

I hate recruiting (& I am going to have to take on about 10 people before the end of the year)
