AIBU - babysitter/vomiting bug

Background: DD is 20 months and attends nursery on the days that I work. DH has chronic health conditions meaning he can't take care of her for long periods. I have a big deadline coming up at work with loads of stuff to do to prepare, plus an application for a new role due on Friday.

DD came down with a vomiting bug this evening 😩
Clearly she can't go to nursery tomorrow (Thurs) so I'll stay home and look after her. WIBU to get a babysitter for Friday so I can get work done then? (Nursery closed for bank holiday, plus wouldn't accept her back for 48hrs anyway.) Obviously this is assuming she is not still ill. DH thinks this is VU and would make us antisocial spreaders of disease. I think he is being ridiculous. Clearly we would let the sitter know the situation so they can make an informed decision.

Wdyt?

If the babysitter is fully aware then it's their choice. I certainly wouldn't be doing it though if I were them! Last time DD had a sickness bug she was still puking 24 hours later and was quite sad and tired for the 24 after too (and then I caught it 😬) but if she's back to usual and you can find someone who doesn't mind that they might catch it, then go for it!

Oooh tricky one. I'm a nanny and looked after 2 little ones with a bug. I wore gloves for changes and washed my hands repeatedly. Also regularly sanitised surfaces. Only one parents caught it (there were 4 as ur was a share), none of the other adults did.

However if i was being called in for an ad hoc job, I'd decline as there's not guarantee I won't catch it, and being I'll would affect my ability to work other jobs and earn.

Just to be clear: she was sick Wednesday night, I'll be looking after her on Thursday. Babysitter would be for Friday
