Overnight nappy leaks

Hi, my 7mo is currently is pampers baby dry size 3 over night. We use Aldi size 3 in the daytime. He currently weighs 18lbs so is 2lb off technically fitting in size 4.

Every morning he he has leaked through to his sleeping bag.

We don’t nappy change overnight as, although he wakes between 5-10 times most nights, I breastfeed him back to sleep again within minutes. A nappy change at night wakes him fully and then he takes up to an hour to settle again as he is then ready to play.

So I’ve thought of three options:

  1. Reusable waterproof wrap over size 3 disposable
  1. Move up to size 4 (added bonus is size 4 have the + for absorbency)
  1. Move to size for night time nappy pants (although I can’t seem to find these with the +)

We are trialling option 1 tonight but I’m a bit concerned about airflow - although not sure how much of an issue this would be?

Any advice on what might be best? Thanks

Move up a size for sure. That stopped all night leaks for us!

Thank you @LoveYouHoneybear will pick some up tomorrow, just wasn’t sure if that would create more leaks!

We use washables. Prob 6-9 months were the wettest times as baby drinks more but not eating loads of solids yet. Solved here by adding an extra bamboo insert into night nappy those few months.

You can probably add bamboo insert into disposable as well? Although I do recommend tots bots bamboozles with wrap for night time. You can add as many extra inserts as you need.

Leaks were always a sign of a need to size up for me x

My baby is tiny but has been in size 4 for ages! The weights are just guides - size up if you get leaks

Go up to size 6 at night.

yep sizing up worked for us

If you change him on the bed and keep him on his stomach during the nappy change does he still wake up? My DS usually sleeps through night time changes.

One more thing that I forgot to mention. Tight clothing puts pressure on the nappy and prevents it from expanding. Leave the crotch poppers on his vests and sleepsuits undone at night.
