Won't eat meat

My 18 month old DS won't eat meat, fish or eggs.
We are on the milk ladder and he has a nut and peanut allergy so have to consider alternative options carefully.
He used to eat meat and fish when he was weaned as it was blended and he used to love his little casseroles or whatever we gave him.
Now he has whole foods and not blended he won't eat them.
He's a good little eater and if he turns out to be a veggie then so be it, but I'm curious if this no meat, fish, egg eating is, dare I say the word 'normal'?
FTM so all new to me.
He picks up the meat or fish put it's to his lips and just says no and then pushes his plate away. He won't even put it in his mouth and chew it
Any ideas?

Ours wouldn’t, either so I carried on blending and used it like thick gravy.

Just blend it in, it's likely a texture thing at this age
In time he'll eat it!

It’s a common texture thing at that age. Mine would eat eggs but not meat or fish. One day when she was about 2.5, out of the blue she said she wanted a hamburger for lunch. So we took her out, bought her a burger and she’s been a little carnivore ever since.

My 2 year old won’t eat much meat either. He also has nut/ dairy allergy

He will eat Bolognese if it’s been cooked forever so no lumps. And literally yesterday for the first time ate a piece of roast chicken.

I think it’s the texture, as he won’t eat non meat either that’s a similar texture ie veggie burgers or falafel.

I use a lot of beans and lentils for protein. Mashed black beans with ( dairy free) cheese quesadillas go down well

My DS the same and never got over it, he's now a 4yo vegetarian, would be vegan if he didn't eat yoghurt or cheese as he's no egg or liquid milk either. Have to say it's really challenging getting him to eat enough calories, he's brilliant with fruit and veg, eats a lot of beans, chickpeas, lentils etc but we do rely on peanut butter a lot to give him some calories! He hasn't gained any weight in a year now (though has gotten taller) so we're monitoring. But at least he's establishing healthy eating habits for his adult life I suppose!

Thank you all! I defo think it's a texture thing as he won't eat potatoes or anything breaded either!
He sounds like a nightmare doesn't he but he is a really good eater I promise! 🤣
From what you lovelies have all said is that it will come in time.
And tbf, if he ends up a veggie so be it! I don't really care as long as he eats and he is healthy.
Thanks everyone 🥰🥰🥰
