Newborn poop help please!!!

I’ve got two babies not pooping!!

Gave birth to twins on Friday night. Not long after they were born they latched on nicely and fed for a while. Their two glucose tests showed their levels were getting lower so the paediatrician said to top up feeds with formula. They’ve been breastfeeding nicely and I’ve been topping up as requested. Yesterday I noticed my milk was starting to come in so less and less formula.

They both pooped ok at first, lots of meconium out. But now they’ve not gone in a little over 24 hours. And they’re miserable! I’m assuming it’s connected. I was discharged yesterday afternoon and stupidly didn’t think about it so didn’t ask. I’m going to call the community midwife team when they open at 9.

But pleading to you lovely experts for any tips, advice, help until then please!

I just had my second 4 weeks ago, after his meconium poos he didn’t have one for about 5 days. I was getting quite concerned but the midwife team weren’t, and sure enough when his poo finally came when he was 6 days old it was a big one!
So hopefully nothing to worry about, but your MW team will be able to advise you properly and see if they need to be seen.

I had my little boy 5 weeks ago tomorrow. He didnt go for 4 days when he was first born. I spoke to midwife at our 5 day appointment as it had already been 3 days since he last went and she said not to worry unless he still was 5/6 days then told to contact postnatel. Next day he went so it took him 4 days to start with but its been regular ever since.

I am formula feeding but formula can make newborns constapated.

Ok, that’s so reassuring thank you! Doesn’t help with the screaming all night but fingers crossed that was a one off. I’ll await the explosion!
