Looking to see if anyone has had a similar problem with their baby.

12month old has had a red cracked rash around his mouth /chin since weening at 6 months. Have had 3 doctors reviews in 6 months (telephone and online photos only). Have been told its dribble rash, or eczema or food sensitivity and definitely not an allergy. Treatment has been a barrier cream before meals, moisturising multiple times a day and a steroid cream at night. All of which has calmed the rash down but he still has a permananant ring of red skin around his mouth / chin.
A different doctor has now prescribed piriton and done a paediatric referral as she thinks that actually it may be a mild allergy. The piriton seems to be making a big difference and the rash is the best it's been in 6 months. No further advice except to wait for the referral. No idea how long this will take but I guess I give twice daily piriton until then.
Has anyone else had similar and got a diagnosis in the end?
