Weaning- is vomiting on it's own an allergic reaction?

Hi - new here! So not sure if I've posted in right thread...

My son is 6.5 months and we've been weaning for a few weeks. He has mild eczema and i have mild eczema, asthma & hayfever so realise he is more high risk for allergies.

On Friday he had his first allergen, some bread. He also had a cough & cold which, upon reading into his reaction, I realised it was a bad idea to introduce an allergen while he was poorly. About 5 hours after the bread, he vomited (quite projectile) twice. We assumed it was from his cough and that had caused it. So i breastfed him thinking he'd be hungry, but he vomited that straight back up. It was more of a 'adult' vomit with a gag and retch rather than baby posset. However the next day he was totally off his milk and the milk he did have he burped back up like reflux (we've never had reflux issues so I'm unsure what's usual with this). Then after 24 hours all was back to normal for appetite and keeping milk down.

I should also add that he's only recently started having formula (the pre packaged one) in the last few weeks and has had 3 or 4 bottles in total. About 3 hours before the vomiting started (and so 2 hours after the bread) he drunk formula. So in theory it could have been a reaction to this too!!

Appreciate this all sounds very confusing as there's a lot of possibilities to what it could be. He had no other symptoms apart from vomit/reflux.

Anyone experienced this?!

P.s need to update my username!!

I think you're over thinking weaning completely. Just relax and let him eat. And no I don't think vomiting is a common allergic reaction, it's probably just sat more heavily on his stomach than milk so it came back up. He still has an underdeveloped stomach after all. Just give a small bit of everything and his tummy will soon adjust. If he was really ill he'd be sick more than once

Also babies are projectile sick with colds all the time, it's so annoying! But it happens for the reasons I said in pp

That's really reassuring thank you! Definitely feel I'm overthinking- my sister is anaphylaxis peanuts and fish so I'm definitely not as relaxed as some of my friends !

Omg that's weird- I have anaphylaxis to peanuts too, so I learned the hard way to chill out a bit too 😂
