Hi all,
I am 23, a mother of one, and this week I had my first visit with a social worker to hopefully become a foster carer. I've read through some of the threads on here but I wanted to hear some of your experiences with fostering and the application process. We are fostering through an agency, hopefully doing 0-5 as our child is only 2. My in laws were foster carers ( mom and baby) so I know how challenging it can be.
How was the application process?
I'm also a bit worried about finances as I'm not working rn and am on universal credit, so I'm not sure how the taxes work, as well as what financial checks have to be done during the application process, I'm worried that will make them decline me at panel. I am going to be the main carer as my other half wants to get a a part time job elsewhere.
