8 month old smacking/sucking in lips when eating

Bit of a random one really - but I’ve noticed this evening when feeding my baby a risotto that he was really sucking in his lips and smacking them when doing so. Is this a texture thing that he’s struggling a bit with the risotto rice? Or just him enjoying it haha

Hey my 8 month old does this too I think its completely normal! I think its a mixture of what you said and also just immature mouth movements which will develop over time. Xxx
