I have a 3 year old who touches us so much on our upper arms. I don’t mean that she is extremely clingy or overly affectionate. She specifically touches our upper arms like rubbing it up and down, side to side just all over. Constantly. She’ll watch tv and slip her arm under my shirt, we’ll read books and she slips it up there, she’ll eat a cookie with one hand and with the other she goes for our arms, she’ll also pick at bumps or scabs on our arms. She’ll do it to her upper arms as well, with her own arms it’s as if they’re itchy. She’ll scratch them hard but she’s been doing it since forever I don’t think her arms actually itch(she’s only 3 but still). When she was an infant and we’d walk her around and rock her to sleep she’d rub our arms also. IT IS MADDENING.
She used to have trouble sleeping through the night, when I would get her, I’d pick her up, she’d put her head down on my shoulder and hand to my arms.
Has anyone dealt with something similar?
