What does your 6 month old routine look like?

I feel a bit lost. We don't seem to have any structure to our days and I feel like I'm wasting the precious time I have left with my beautiful boy before I return to work.

What do your days and evenings look like with your 6 month old?

I'm hoping to start some baby classes next week to meet new people and get out of the house. We have started on solids which he loves. He plays beautifully and is happy to play on his own but equally enjoys input from others. I would just like to form some kind of routine.

7am - Wake, nappy, bottle
7.30am - I shower and get ready, DH entertains baby or she watches me get ready
8am - Solids
9am - Nap - usually 1hr 15 ish
11am - Bottle
12ish - Solids
1ish - Nap - I usually take her out in the pram for this one, listen to podcasts/music, visit shops if needed
2.30ish - Bottle
Play time
4/4.30pm - 30m power nap (not always successful)
5pm - Bottle
5.30/6pm - Solids
6.15pm - Bath, pjs
6.45pm - Bottle
7pm - Bed
Then DH and I have dinner, watch TV, read, in glorious peace!!

I go to Rhyme Time on Thursdays and occasionally meet up with friends and other mums. I also sometimes switch the pram nap to the first one of the day depending on weather, mood etc.

@cirillaofcintra once your baby goes down at 7 does he sleep through till the morning? Mine seems to constantly graze all day and night Grin

Nope Grin She usually wakes at least once before we go to bed, but doesn't need food (we switched to formula at 6m and she has a 7oz bottle at 7) and goes back to sleep after a quick cuddle.

She then wakes either once or twice more - 11pmish and 4amish are the standard times. She used to graze all night like you say when breastfed (and we coslept), now she sleeps for longer chunks, about 4-5 hrs at a time. Hurrah!

@cirillaofcintra thank you so much for your replies. They're extremely helpful and I feel a bit tearful at the relief that perhaps with a better routine we might get a bit more sleep. I'm so tired Grin
