3 yo with zero concentration- going mad!

Have 3.5 y/o 2 days a week, and he's at nursery for 3 days. On the days I have him, I just can't keep him entertained. It's fine if we're going out, for swimming or whatever but that only takes up maybe two hours, and I'm left with ten more to fill.
I know it's not my job to entertain him but I literally don't know how to not- eg he won't leave me alone ever and just play, even when I tell him I'm busy or whatever. And when I do do things with him, he cycles through activities at a rate of maybe one every five minutes. So playdough took just five minutes max. Then hide and seek five minutes. Then colouring maybe 2 minutes. Now I'm hiding in the loo typing this. I've run out of ideas and all am knackered! I get a bit of downtime with TV but even that only gets maybe half an hour these days.
Obvs I'm not doing something right. Other people seem to have 3 year olds who will happily just sit in the kitchen doing colouring while their parents read the paper or something.
At this stage I don't mind even if he's not playing independently, I just want him to stick at it for more than a couple of minutes. Help!

Sounds normal for this age (sorry). Maybe do an activity such as soft play in the morning come home for lunch then go to the park when you get back they will be more tired/willing to play alone for a bit.it’s tough, keep going

Also no way would my three years old sit and colour while I read the paper. Haha

Paw patrol .. even better the octonauts movie on Netflix .. Bowl of popcorn and a blanket.. it might get me 20-45 mins
Otherwise it's only while I'm playing with him

What happens when the 2 mins is up? Maybe he just needs a little break and then can return to the activity?
