What time shall I give 12 week old bottle of breast milk?

Hi everyone
My daughter is 12 week tomorrow and ebf. This week we have tried her with a bottle of breast milk and she took to it really well.
I would like to give her one bottle a Day and planning to start with 4oz (she’s a hungry baby). I was wondering what time you would all recommend I do that? I was thinking maybe 7.30pm after bath time and before she drops off to sleep at 8pm to help fill her belly for the night time? This means I can pump in the day to have her milk ready.
As she falls asleep around 8pm now I am finding she’s waking up at least twice in the night to feed because she’s not feeding during the evening. Last night we gave her 1oz to try at 9pm which she guzzled then I fed her at 11pm when I went to bed and she slept through and woke at 6am this morning.
Or is there a reason I should I give her a bottle in the day time only? Also is starting on 2-4oz okay? She won’t over feed her self will she?

I’d give the bottle at 11pm, see baby though the early hours

Why are you giving her a bottle? Have you got something you would like to start doing soon and you want to be able to leave her a bit longer? If so, give her the bottle at that time - so if you want to start going to a 7pm gym class a couple of times a week, give the bottle at 7:30pm. If this is prep for going back to work, give the bottle at your work’s break time when you would have a chance to pump. If you’re just experimenting with whether a bottle of expressed milk will help her sleep more at night then what you’re doing sounds fine. It’s very normal to still be waking for milk at night at her age though, bottle or not.

If you’re trying to get a longer block of sleep, feed her on the breast at say 8pm, go to sleep, get your partner to give a bottle the next time she wakes or at 11pm, then you take over when she wakes again at 3/4/5am.

I would give it at some point in the day. Your breastmilk does change throughout the day so breastfeeding in the evening and at night gives them 'sleepy hormones'. So milk pumped in the day and given at night won't have the same effect. I'm not sure how much difference it makes but something to be aware of.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Will look at all these xx

It sounds fine, but she will probably still wake in the night, most babies of that age do :) in fact if you want to maximise sleep it might make sense for you to go to bed at about 8 after that bedtime feed and your partner give the bottle at about 10.30 before he goes to bed. Then you'll have a bigger gap to the next feed.
