Is natural breast milk sugary?

Not sure if that’s a stupid question … but my baby is EBF and I have given him some formula milk for the first time (SMA disposable bottles). I tasted a bit and it tasted really sweet so I guess it has a lot of sugar in it. Should I be worried about that or is it similar composition to breast milk?

Yeah I tried some of mine but it had been stored in the fridge so might have changed the taste because I didn’t think it tasted that sweet

! I’ll give it another go :)

Breast milk is the most awful sweet liquid. It’s a dreadful taste however my 18 month old is still totally addicted to it!

A certain small percentage of women have an enzyme in their milk that gives it a horrible taste when pumped and stored.
Babies don't care though.

My brestmilk tasted waaay more sugary than formula. Still tasted better than formula though! Sadly didn't manage to breastfeed and little one doesn't seem to mind either way (but wouldn't drink my milk out of the fridge after more than 6 hours)

It's like the way fruit has sugar as does chocolate etc but obviously fruit is so much better for you. I have no idea what formula tastes like and I know BM changes anyway based on what you have eaten but BM is natural z organic and formula is highly processed from a cow so they are totally different in composition even if both taste sweet.
