Any ideas what has caused this on my daughters face?

Hello

Wondering if anyone has any ideas? Will call GP in the morning.

My 3 year old DD woke up with a small spot on her face on Sunday; this has now increased to be red and sore she said if isn't itching her but looks aggressive.

She also slept for 15 hours last night but seems ok in herself... does anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you X

Any ideas what has caused this on my daughters face?

I think that might be chicken pox

Generatenewname · 30/03/2022 19:53

Oh sorry just read your post properly - probably not then if that’s the only spot since Sunday.

Chicken pox, in which case the rest will come up soon. Or an insect bite, in which case you can get a mild steroid cream OTC from a chemist if it's bothering her. But with the 15h sleeping I'd think chickenpox.

Insect bite maybe?

LondonQueen · 30/03/2022 19:58

Looks like a bite to me, I would have thought chicken pox would be all over by now.

LouiseBelchersBunnyEars · 30/03/2022 20:00

It might be chicken pox 🤷‍♀️

My DS had three marks like that, I was at the gp for something else, and so I showed him and he said it was chicken pox.

You can get it very mildly

Seemssounfair · 30/03/2022 20:02

I would stick some sudacreme on it for a couple of days to see if it disappears, if you want to speak to someone try the pharmacy and let them advise you if it needs a gp or if they can give you something.

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 30/03/2022 20:05

If it remains only one, I'd say a bite. If any more appear, probably more likely on her body, I'd say chicken pox.

robocracker · 30/03/2022 20:06

It might be chicken pox, my dd had it a few years ago and only ended up with 5 spots. She was a bit I'll with it and all her friends had it otherwise I might not have even realised!

Wasywasydoodah · 30/03/2022 20:08

insect bite i think

SamMil · 30/03/2022 20:11

Just looks like an insect bite to me.

Morechocmorechoc · 30/03/2022 20:14

Bite

justanotherday1987 · 30/03/2022 20:43

Thank you everyone, hopefully I'm just being a bit paranoid then! It's just the one spot and other then being really tired seems absolutely fine in herself... will go up and cover in cream tonight and see how it is in the morning, I really appreciate your help

I only had two spots when I had chicken pox. Enough that I picked up immunity though as they checked when I was pregnant and exposed to it again.

tootrueblue · 30/03/2022 20:57

I'd say a midgie bite. I've got about 6 similar ones from Monday evening. Sudocrem or some calamine lotion dabbed on will soothe it

Playdoughcaterpillar · 30/03/2022 20:59

Chickenpox

justanotherday1987 · 31/03/2022 13:32

Quick update; took her to GP she said it's not chicken pox but an infected spot

I’m glad you’ve got a definitive answer. Hope it clears up quickly Smile
