My 1 year old won't drink water!!!

I'm at the end of my tether as my 15MO is outright refusing to drink water and I'm really worried about the repercussions of it.

She has different types of cups to drink from and we are trying all of them but she just pushes them away - so I don't think it's a 'cup' problem as she still drinks her milk fine.

This morning she had a tantrum when we tried to give her some. I'm now down to giving her water lollies in a desperate bid to keep her hydrated but not sure how long this can go on for.

Two nights ago she had blood in her poo after straining all day which was obviously very alarming. We gave her stool softener in her milk. She has a very broad diet so I am confident that it is the lack of water that is causing this.

Any ideas or tricks would be really helpful please!!!

This was me last summer. In the hot weather I just gave in and just gave him squash. Hydration is the most important thing

Just give her a little squash. It won't cause her any harm. It's more harmful being constipated.

Honestly, what nonsense on here, "teaching them to drink water","watering down milk"
She needs fluids, give her them.
Squash is not evil, you are doing her more harm keeping her dehydrated.

We used fruit (chopped/squashed grapes, blueberries and mango were favourite) and then gradually reduced the fruit. Or a few drops of fresh orange juice (which also helps with going to the loo)
