Is 2 short days enough at nursery to properly settle?

I go back to work in June just after DS’s first birthday. He will be in nursery Monday & Wednesday 9-3 and at home with me the rest of the time. I’ve seen some comments on other threads that such 2 days of short sessions won’t be enough for him to settle and now I’m worried. My eldest did 3 days and never settled well but even at 4.5 he still doesn’t like going and would much prefer to stay at home.

DA has always gone two half days and has always been absolutely fine (with the odd wobbly phase where he doesn’t want to go, always fine when he is there). He certainly hasn’t struggled because of it. But we may have got lucky, I have friends whose kids go a lot more and they’ve dealt with big tears and what looks like separation anxiety.

My DD does two days, slightly longer probably more like 8.30 to 4.30 but she’s settled fine and has a lovely time there. She spends another 2 days with DGPs.

Minue used to go 9-12 two days a week. Dd1 started at 16 months, DD2 at 22 months.
DD1 settled straight away.
DD2 liked it once there, but was a little devil at drop offs and pick up. This continued off and on until she was 6, so it wasn't the length of time. She just hated transitions. She wanted both home and nursery/school simultaneously...

He might take a little longer to settle, but he will eventually. My DS did 2 days (9am-5pm) at 1yo and he took a while to adjust but soon loved it there.

I'm planning on sending mine tue and thur 8 till 16:00/16:30. I only want to go back to work two days as I want to spend time with him. The rest of the time he will be with me/husband. I realise it might take him a little longer to settle but I'm ok with that for the trade of of extra time with him😁
