18mo being under paediatrician since 3weeks old for allergies, reflux and swallowing issues. Medicated for reflux and on prescription formula.
Started with a cough in July and generally unwell, plus high temp. Repeated tonsillitis, ear and sinuses infections. Plus the odd spell of hand foot and mouth, sickness etc. ENT referral done in September appointment next month. Started nursery in September, as I returned to work, but the number of days able to attend is limited.
Blood tests indicated low white blood count, along with few antibodies, this has been repeated and awaiting results. due to persistent wet cough (7 months) was placed on a 4week course of antibiotics. This finished and within 48hours, DD was back in hospital with a temp of 40.3 (not coming down) and cough. Another 4weeks of antibiotics, and again within 48hours she’s back coughing and temperature. I’m lost, surely she can’t have another dose of antibiotics. But her temperature isn’t coming down, and she’s not sleeping or eating / drinking again, screaming in pain. What on earth could be the matter?
She was so well the last few weeks, happy, laughing, sleeping well and eating (which has been a huge battle in itself), and it’s been a breath of fresh air. It’s wearing me down as a parent, I’m struggle to juggle, and feel like it’s taking the enjoyment out of motherhood. It’s late and she’s still not asleep, I’m exhausted.
