My 4 year old is an absolute nightmare at the moment. He is extremely clingy and awful at bedtime. He started this new thing a few months ago where he pretends his knee hurts, will scream, cry and shout asking for me to stroke it, he could be sat on his tablet when he starts doing it or we could be in a queue for soft play when he does it. I know his knee doesn’t hurt as he generally mixes up which knee actually hurts and he doesn’t do this with dad who has him 30% of the time or at his nursery.
At bedtime, he uses every excuse in the sun to keep me in his room and like a mug I continue going in as I know if I don’t he will just have a full on meltdown down.
Has anyone had this issue re saying body parts hurt so they are stroked?
Anyone dealt with similar bed time issues?
He gets a lot of attention so I don’t think that’s why he does the knee thing, sometimes he can go play by himself really nice then other times is extremely clingy with me.
