Is it normal for a potty training toddler to hold their urine for HOURS?

We're on day 4 of potty training my just turned 3 year old. She's doing great, no accidents yesterday and none so far today. But, she last had a wee at 7am, it's now almost 1pm and she hasn't since??

She seems perfectly happy and not uncomfortable. She will happily sit on the potty but doesn't do anything. She did similar yesterday, went from 7am - 12:30pm without peeing and then did a huge one on the potty. Does she just have good bladder control? 😂😂

Thank you Smile

Sounds like she's just got good bladder control.

Is she drinking enough? If her wee is dark/smelly then she's maybe a bit dehydrated.

Neither of my DSs wee much during the day. Once in the morning when they wake up, and again before bed. They are 12 and 9 now and have never had any problems. They were really easy to potty train Grin

My DS has the bladder capacity of a medium sized dinghy!! From the start of toilet training he'd go HOURS! And never have an accident. I have up trying to encourage a "have a try" wee before we went anywhere because it used to irritate him so much!

One of my friends and her DD are like this - don't need a wee till lunchtime. I can't look at a sign for a toilet without having to pop in for a wee!
