My child goes to nursery two afternoons a week so not much , but he talks about three children that he likes and knows there names etc I was wondering if I should invite them to his birthday party which is being held at a village hall ? The trouble is I don’t know the parents..would that be really weird to invite them ?

I'd treat it as a chance to get to know the parents. I'm sure the staff at the nursery would pass on a few invites. Not weird at all.
