The GP surgery has lost my son's red book

I'm fuming - they insisted on taking it off me to update their records for the mmr (which I had done privately). It didn't get as far as a gp or nurse as his records are not updated and it's lost.

I loved that book. All his little growth charts however my main fear is data protection.

Anyone had this?

how can they have lost it? it may turn up you know - we dropped in some stuff at a solicitors recently and they 'lost it', we replaced the forms and then about 2 weeks later they found it, it had been misfiled.

can you ask if they'd look through all in trays/ filing cabinets recently in use?

Ask them to have another look for it, i'm sure it will turn up somewhere - may have just accidently been picked up with another file etc.

From memory, my red book doesnt show anything other than name and address then check up details - nobody could use it for fraud etc.
