Another swaddling question

Hi all,
Just wanted to ask at what age do you/should you stop swaddling a baby?
Our ds is now 14 weeks old and after trial and error with various methods this is what works best with us. If it helps he is about 12lbs (don't know exact weigh as not been weighed in a while).
We tried blankets (kicked off) and sleeping bags (hands free and used to knock out dummy and scratch face) but this works.

Also we just use a huge cellular blanket but have seen the swaddling wrap things with velcro tabs - is it worthwhile getting one of these or should I persevere with sleeping bags. I am a huge fan of them too as his sister used them from a couple of weeks until about 9 months or so and were great. Advice and ideas grateful.

I swaddled ds1 for quite a while, he was definitely still swaddled when he went into his big cot at around 5/6 months-ish.
can't really remember when we stopped.

a normal blanket is absolutely fine. no need to shell out for a special one if you are ok using the ones you have

we never got on with sleeping bags. partly because ds's both hit themselves round the head and kept themselves awake, and partly because their arms and hands got cold

Swaddle for as long as it suits. Most of ours were over 6m before we stopped. Some we swaddled for a looooong time because they liked it and settled well. Had to use a full-size cot blanket
