LOL - some of them do fart a lot. It's normal. Is she feeding a lot more too?

Islamum · 06/01/2008 20:09

She is feeding less - this evening just kept being sick and now has gone to sleep and she can't have kept much down, she seems alert and happy though??

She sounds like she could have a gastrointestinal bug. Don't stress too much - as long as she is having wet nappies it will pass. If she stops peeing for more than six hours or refuses to feed for a long time, or if her eyes look sunken, take her to the GP. She may become rehydrating. Is her temperature normal?

Temp is normal, and have spent day at grans with entire extended family which was probably a bit stressful which may explain puking, but as I say she seems happy, probably just in for a long broken night. Smelly farts have been happening for a few days though, didn't know if it was normal or linked to an intolerance to something I'm eating??

Not normally. Unless you have been mainlining chicken madras? Or lots of sprouts? I did find when DD was very little if I ate a lot of chocolate she got bad wind - but I'm afraid that didn't stop me and they grow out of it anyway, now she loves spicy food and indeed chocolate so I guess you can try and restrict your diet, or just wait a bit and see.

I'm assuming your family haven't been feeding her kitkats or anything surreptitiously?

Islamum · 06/01/2008 21:17

I bloody hope not, shes not 9 weeks yet, but with my gran, who practically stole her from me when we arrived and had to be wrestled to remove hungry baby for feed, anything is possible...

That's what I wondered. But if she's been like that a couple of days - I guess if you've been scarfing a lot of rubbish over christmas she could be suffering from an overly stimulated bowel.

My diet as been less than healthy the farts coincided with the reduction of poos from all the time to once a day, I guess her digestive system is maturing, I'm also eating more chocs and started drinking a little wine.. guess I could try cutting one our

Hmm well not necessarily. Personally I would wait a week or two and see if things calm down. No need to forgo your few remaining pleasures in life if you can avoid it. Tis more likely that she is just having a windy time of it, it will pass. FYI you are coming up to a big growth spurt so things will change anyway! Plus la change, ce la vie

Shes just been sick again so going to ty a bottle, don't know if it'll work, but you never know, need sleep
