Stores like mothercare

Are there any stores left like mothercare where you can walk round and look at prams, cots, car seats, baby clothes etc.
Other than mamas and papas which is just their own brand, or pram stores I can’t find anywhere.
Really miss mothercare, their newborn baby wear was the best.

You can do this in John Lewis but I agree - I miss Mothercare!

Ahh I forgot about John Lewis thank you.

Smyths Toy Store has got a section with prams, cots, highchairs, etc. Have you looked for any independent ones near to you?

The pram stores seem to be regional and more independent now. There might be one in the nearest big city to you?

Mamas and Papas
John Lewis
Smyths Toys
Pram World (physical and online store)
Natural Baby Shower (it is a physical and online store)
Jo Jo Maman Bebe

Mothercare closed when I was four months pregnant. I just had enough time to shop there when the shops were half empty ahead of closure. I feel like I missed out!

Some large branches of Boots have prams and car seats in store - our local one does although it’s not a huge selection compared to say a John Lewis.

Also boots bought the mothercare clothes brand so you can get mothercare clothes there (though I can’t comment on whether it’s the same as actual mothercare).

Depending on where you are in the country, Baby Planet stores are brilliant. They are around the Derby/Leicester area and have a handful of stores. We travelled from Birmingham to the Derby one and it was well worth the trip

Boots still stock the Mothercare range including prams, furniture and clothing.
But you need a pretty big Boots to be able to see it on display.
Mamas and Papas was the only real stockist we found with a big selection to be fair.
We had a look, found what we wanted and got advice from the staff then bought everything online from different retailers at a fraction of the cost.

Halfords - car seats
Asda (large branches)- stair gates etc.

Where I live there are still several smaller independent stores in surrounding towns that stock all the different brands of prams, car seats, etc. The demand is still there for this type of shop as people want to see them and compare them.
Please do buy from them though if they have what you want, don’t go home and order from a cheaper online supplier.

If you are in the south we have babygear. Think they do it online as well

Mothercare clothes are available at Boots, I've got our baby a few bits but the range available depends on store size.
Mammas & Pappas have prams out on display. There are some baby superstores about but I don't know where abouts.
