Hi mum,

Any tips or products i can use to help with my 5 week old babys reflux. We have tried different milks and it's don't seem to work as it plays her colic up so anything else we can do or try her on please.

Would warm or cold milk help make a difference to her reflux?

Thank you.

We were prescribed Carobel by the GP as baby was showing symptoms of silent reflux around that age. It's been a dream for us and she's gone from only taking 60/90mls despite being clearly hungry and then wanting more only 90mins later to now at 8 weeks for the last couple of weeks she's taking the full 120ml and going hours between feeds and piling on the weight. I would speak to your HV/GP as obvs your baby may be different and this is what is working for us. You can buy Carobel on Amazon too. The only thing is it made her constipation worse but we now have medication for that too.

We used aptimil anti reflux milk which was nice and thick compared to normal formula...didn't completely stop the reflux but it reduced it significantly!

We use colic drops in every bottle, can either be put in the bottle or on its own if bf. More than half the price of infacol and seem to be working so much better!

Also noticed warm milk helps our DD but not sure if it's just because she seems to drink the whole feed in one go when it's warm rather than spacing it out over about an hour

Thank you for your message, that's great to know!! She is currently on aptamil comfort for her colic which helps like a dream but not with reflux. Do you know if you can use carobel with comfort milk? I will contact my doctors and find out too. Smile

My son is 9 weeks and has been bad with reflux since 2 week old and it’s just a constant nightmare! He’s on Neocate now for a milk allergy but unfortunately that didn’t stop the sickness. tried gaviscon that doesn’t work so I’m also going to try carobel, You can’t use it with comfort milk as it’s thickened already

If you use Instagram try looking up mamas.milk and rockabyereflux - they talk about oral ties that can cause reflux. Hope that helps x
