First video chat with 2yo and absent father

My 2 year old last saw her father when she was 1 month old. He pays child support but lives in a different country. He wants to be in her life now and is planning to visit next month.
We have a video chat coming up this afternoon to "acquaint" them and I'm not sure how to go about it, what to say or do? If anyone has suggestions or advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Get her to show him something like a favourite toy or a drawing she’s done this morning. Have some toys with you for her to play with during the call. If he looks lost get him to show her how he makes a tea or a coffee or something equally banal but interesting to a 2yr and that can be repeated on future face times. Reading stories can work well too.
It’s probably going to be underwhelming and disappointing for your daughter’s dad, especially if he doesn’t hasn’t got a lot of experience interacting with presechoolers. 3 yr olds are generally not brilliant first time conversationalists . If you get her to pay attention for just a few minutes then that’s a win. If you’re on ok speaking terms with her dad, then a bit of chit chat about stuff that isn’t going to spark strong emotions on either side can help keep the call going long enough for a your daughter to get bored and then come back and be interested again.

Does she speak to other people via FaceTime ? Or is this completed new. Personally I’d probably think a short call with some prepped play options is good ( eg singing or can you find something blue etc). Hopefully her dad would have thought of some thing himself too.

Maybe prep some snacks so she can eat while dad talks\plays. Something like raisers that takes a while.

Hope it goes well!

Just to add sometime I set up my iPad next to the kids for their grandparents. Then they watch them play and have conversations here and there while they play.
